GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode is where our low-code family started: its first version came out in May 2025, and 26.9.0 is its sixteenth release. Its ten plugins each do one conversion: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HTML to PDF, and PDF to PDF/A, Word, or Markdown. Each one takes a few lines of code and costs $99.

What’s in the Package

PluginClassWhat it does

Every converter loads its source document from a file path or a stream and writes the result with a single Convert call. The package runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux under .NET 6 or later, and it doesn’t need Microsoft Office.

Convert a Document in Three Steps

Install the package:

dotnet add package GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode

Then set your license, load the document, and convert it:

using GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode;// Set your licenseLicense.Set("GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode.lic");// Load the Word documentvar converter = new DocxToPdfConverter("business-plan.docx");// Save it as PDFconverter.Convert("business-plan.pdf");

The other nine converters work the same way: swap DocxToPdfConverter for XlsxToPdfConverter, PptxToPdfConverter, or any other class in the table.

Control How the Source Is Loaded

The optional second argument of every constructor sets the load options for its format. You can open password-protected files, hide the reviewers’ comments, or pick the worksheets to convert:

using System.Collections.Generic;using GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode;using GroupDocs.Conversion.Options.Load;// Open a password-protected Word documentvar protectedDocument = new DocxToPdfConverter("protected.docx", options => options.Password = "12345");protectedDocument.Convert("unprotected.pdf");// Leave the reviewers' comments out of the PDFvar reviewedDocument = new DocxToPdfConverter("with-comments.docx", options =>    options.CommentDisplayMode = WordProcessingCommentDisplay.Hidden);reviewedDocument.Convert("no-comments.pdf");// Convert only the first and third worksheetsvar workbook = new XlsxToPdfConverter("invoice-tracker.xlsx", options =>    options.SheetIndexes = new List<int> { 0, 2 });workbook.Convert("selected-sheets.pdf");

Control What Is Written

The optional second argument of Convert sets the output options. One converter can write several results:

using System.Collections.Generic;using GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode;var converter = new DocxToPdfConverter("business-plan.docx");// Convert only the first three pagesconverter.Convert("summary.pdf", options => options.Pages = new List<int> { 1, 2, 3 });// Protect the PDF with a passwordconverter.Convert("protected.pdf", options => options.Password = "12345");

Work with Streams

Both the source and the result can be streams, so a web app can convert an upload without writing temporary files:

using System.IO;using GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode;using var input = File.OpenRead("presentation.pptx");using var output = new MemoryStream();new PptxToPdfConverter(input).Convert(output);// The stream stays open at its end: rewind it before you read the PDFoutput.Position = 0;

Archive PDFs as PDF/A

PdfToPdfAConverter writes PDF/A-1a by default. Choose another conformance level, such as PDF/A-2b, with PdfFormat:

using GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode;using GroupDocs.Conversion.Options.Convert;// PDF/A-1anew PdfToPdfAConverter("contract.pdf").Convert("contract-pdfa-1a.pdf");// PDF/A-2bnew PdfToPdfAConverter("contract.pdf").Convert("contract-pdfa-2b.pdf", options =>    options.PdfOptions.PdfFormat = PdfFormats.PdfA_2B);

In our tests, both results passed validation with veraPDF. To merge several documents into one archive, see Combine Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Files into One Archived PDF.

Turn PDFs into Markdown

PdfToMdConverter keeps the text, lists, and tables of a PDF and embeds its images as Base64. For a search index or a language model, leave the images out:

using GroupDocs.Conversion.LowCode;new PdfToMdConverter("handbook.pdf").Convert("handbook.md", options =>    options.MarkdownOptions.ExportImagesAsBase64 = false);

Convert PDF to Markdown for AI and RAG Pipelines walks through a complete pipeline, from a folder of PDFs to chunks ready for embedding.

Simple Licensing

Each plugin is licensed separately for a one-time $99 per developer: perpetual, royalty-free, with no subscriptions. You can try any converter right away. Without a license, only the first three pages of each document are converted, an evaluation message is added to the result, and a process can convert up to 10 documents. To test without these limits, request a free temporary license.
